The BIG Proposal

On the 26th of December, 2004 the day the world will remember as the day of the Tsunami. Paul and I were heading to a Chateau in Bordeaux. The scene was set with 4 star hotel in the middle of a vineyard and a beautiful restaurant. We had a 6 course meal of the finest French cuisine and a nice bottle of Bordeaux Wine.

After the desert, I told Paul how much I loved him and asked him if he would marry me. Paul said ‘of course’ and I gave him the ring. We were both so happy and wanted to tell everyone and you all would have got a text message that night. I was one of the most memorable days of my life.

After the excitement of the proposal we headed for the ski fields of Cauterets. Paul was born to ski but not snowboard. He even managed to complete a few blue runs. Well I hope you enjoy the photos and we can’t wait to go home and have a huge engagement party!!!

We did a wine tasting tour. This chateau was run by a man who was obsessed in wine and horses so he had heaps of horse carriages as well. We learned a lot about wine and even bought a bottle.

Hola from Alcala and Madrid, Spain

One night at the pub quiz we met these two wonderful Spanish people who became our really good friends, Carlos and Irene. They kindly offered for us to come to Spain and accepted. Dave, Paul and I went for a long weekend to Carlos and Irene's town of Alcala, which is 1 hour away from Madrid. The town is famous for the birthplace of the Cervantes author of Don Quixote and also its storks even though we didn't get an opportunity to see any. Its a really nice town and everyone was lovely. I hope you enjoy the pictures and we just want to thank Carlos and Irene for showing us a great time.....

This is the Palace in Madrid, which is still used by the King Juan Carlos and the princess. They have big functions at the Palace. This was the most beautiful palace and royal residence, which I have been too. All the rooms are extravagently decorated with paintings on the walls and chandelier.
