Scary, getting close!

Only 3 sleeps to go now. I've been a bit worried/excited, it's such a big move. It's going to be great to leave home and get away from parents/my brother/work for a while, as well as see Tram every day! :) I’ve been so busy lately with work and parties and getting organised... I’m glad that we’re pretty much ready to go. Only a few things left to do and I’ll be all set. Can’t wait!

My Aunt Jayne gave me a blow up globe today, and it’s really good. It’s amazing how far we will be travelling, and very interesting to see all of the countries we will potentially be visiting and where they are in relation to the UK. And not only that, we can use it as a beach ball! Assuming, of course, that there is a beach where you can take hero dives ;) I’m sure there will be.

I put some pictures up of the last games night that Tram, Gen, Melina, Kris and I had together up on the web here if anyone is interested. The only pictures of me were very scary (literally) so I have deemed not to put them up.

Anyway, time to go and have a quick surf of the net before my 3rd last sleep in my room... bye!

Fun days ahead!!

Before we leave on our exciting adventure we have lots of parties to go to and fun things to do.

12th of May
We are going to our third class of our bar coarse. We are going to try a range of spirits and alcohol this week. Woohoo.

15th of May
Steve's 21st Birthday. I think this will be a wild night with Turkish food, belly dancers and a whole lot of alcohol. Happy birthday Steve!!

17th of May
We have a girls night with cocktails, games and karaoke. Its going to be a great time and it will be really nice catching up with my bestfriends before I leave because I know I will miss them extremely.

22nd of May
I'm having a farewell party with my workmates at Ipswich Families. We're going to have Vietnamese food which will be fun since some of them have not had Vietnamese food before.

24th of May
Melina's engagements party!! I'm really looking forward to this because one of my bestfriend is getting engaged.

25th of May
Lunch with Paul's family. I think it will be very sad and his mum might cry. I'm going to miss them a lot too.

26th - 30th of May
Last minute packing and mad rush to get things that I need.

31st of May
This is the big day when we leave. I think my parents are taking me to the airport and I think there will be a lot of tears and happiness.

Mother's Day

Well, today is Mother's Day. 20 days to go until we're off, so I thought that I might write an entry. This is going to be really handy once we leave, so need to get into the habit of writing! Yeah, so .. 20 days to go. I have organised a bank account, trying to get a credit card or two. Tram and I got our international driver’s licence yesterday from RACQ. I forgot to shave, so I look a bit… well, like me I guess. Heh.

I got mum a CD, “World’s Best Song Writers 2”. It’s pretty good, and I think she likes it. The only problem is that I bought myself an $815 digital camera yesterday, but she didn’t seem to mind… lucky. Presents are hard. Anyway, she got a nice birthday present, and Mother’s day is such a commercial thing IMHO. Oh well.

The photos I took today came out mostly pretty good. Everyone was calling me “John” at the end of the day, because I guess I was being just like my Uncle.. he takes photos when no one is expecting them to be taken. Hehe. It’s just so tempting!

Hmm, not that much more interesting to report at the moment. My uncle Paul bought a 2 year old Porsche. It’s pretty nice.. Steve went for a drive in it today (they forgot that I haven’t been in it yet and took off without me :( bastards!) and supposedly went about 160km/h down Gardiner Rd (where Jayne lives). Damn, that would have been fun/scary.

That will do for the first real entry I think!
