Brussels
Hi Everyone,
The slackers are back at it again. We finally have some pictures of Brussels ready for you all.
Hope everyone is doing well, and that you enjoy our piccies. Maybe someone else should start a web log and we can see who is the slowest at updating it!
Love to you all,
Tram and Paul
Our Trip to Brussels, Belgium
On our first day in Brussels. This is the street outside our hotel. They were doing some road works. There is a really nice pastry shop down the street with the most beautiful éclairs and croissants.
This is a statue of Leopoldo. We discovered it when we went for a walk around Brussels.
Paul and Carroll-Ann in front of the lion gates to a park that was near our hotel. We didn't actually go into the park but it looks very nice.
This is Paul in front of a church in Antwerp. Inside the church were paintings of Rubens. Antwerp is a Belgium's largest industrial city by the harbour. It takes an hour by bus from Brussels.
Tram and Carroll-Ann in front of the grand place in Antwerp. Antwerp is the world diamond centre but Carroll-Ann and I liked the diamonds that we saw on Harrods better.
Horse and carriage going down the cobble streets of Antwerp.
I'll give everyone $5 if they can guess which on is actually a street performing. You get a real surprise when he moves.
This is a castle in Antwerp but we didn't get an opportunity to go inside. It looks really cool from the outside.
The same castle from a different position/
This is our favourite place in Brussels. Its the Grand Place, a collection of beautiful old buildings that are so intricate and impressive. We don't have anything like this in Brisbane. No wonder Brussels went broke after they built it and are still in debt. They also have markets and concerts here on certain days.
This is the Grand Place at night. Isn't it beautiful!!!
Tram and Carroll-Ann in the oldest shopping centre in Europe. If you can see behind us there is a statue of a dragon carrying a cow hanging from the ceiling. Inside this shopping complex is a lace shop with best lace in the world.
Tram and Paul in front of the Atomium. It was made to mark the some significant occasion, Paul thinks it could have been the world trade fair. Its very massive and at the top atom there is a restaurant.
Thanks for watching, we hope to have something else to put up soon!
